Kingfisher Airlines to launch new service between Mumbai and Heathrow

Kingfisher Airlines has announced that it will launch a new daily service between Mumbai and London Heathrow on January 5th.

The inaugural flight will depart from Mumbai at 13:50 local time and arrive at Heathrow's Terminal 4 at 17:55 GMT, with the return flight leaving at 20:30 GMT and arriving back in India at 11:00 the next morning.

Commenting on the new route, Vijay Mallva, chairman and chief executive officer of Kingfisher Airlines, said: "Given the strong linkages between India and the United Kingdom, we believe that there is untapped potential and this new route promises to serve the unmet needs of discerning corporate and leisure flyers to these destinations."

The service will be Kingfisher's second international route after the Bangalore to London flight was launched on September 3rd.

Kingfisher was recently granted approval by India's government to operate flights on a number of new routes, including Mumbai to Hong Kong and Mumbai to Singapore.

The airline announced in October that it had launched three new services connecting India's commercial capital with Nanded and Latur.
